Nirvana Abou-Gabal, LDN, CNS, MS
I work with Muslimahs who are already carrying the world on their shoulders prioritize their health once again using Islamic-centered nutrition counseling, without restriction, deprivation, or shame. By focusing on our relationship with food and our bodies, in addition to overall nutrition, we are quite literally bring joy back to the table.
Through my one-on-one nutrition consultations, I’m constantly blown away by how small yet consistent changes in diet and lifestyle can yield life-changing results in energy, mood, digestive function, and more. I love seeing my clients THRIVE by learning how to trust their body’s innate wisdom.
Because, truly, each breath is a gift from God…
…though sadly, many of us spend too many of these precious breaths occupied with what life could be like if only we could mould or bodies to look differently. We’ve been shaped by the multi-billion dollar diet culture industry’s propaganda that literally profits off of our insecurities.
And, if we’re being honest: have you noticed that the weight never stays off? And that with each diet, it becomes harder and harder (if not impossible) to lose weight? That each cycle of yo-yo dieting makes us more and more uncomfortable in our own skin? That the number that shows up on the scale is so relentlessly powerful over us that it can make or break our day?
I propose something different: nurturing a loving relationship towards our bodies, and working towards true measures of health and wellbeing. How would your life be different if you reclaimed those moments?

**PSA: CNS practitioners must obtain a graduate degree, 1000 or more hours of supervised clinical experience, and pass a rigorous board exam. Unfortunately, the term “nutritionist” is not regulated in many states (you can have zero nutrition education in some places and legally call yourself a nutritionist). All this is to say: make sure you check your practitioner’s credentials!
